magic in the small things

I'm sorry for being extra absent lately! I've been on a mini vacation, and as it is hard to always get back into the swing of things, time away is always a nice time to reflect on the things that make you happy.

There is magic in the little things.

bows

retro glasses

fairy lights

sweets and coffee

the small details in architecture

sitting in a quiet place

What magic are in the things that make you happy?

Take a moment throughout the day to enjoy those things.

I can so relate to being out of the routine...been taking time off and really not feeling like doing much of anything. Summer is divine!

The things that I really enjoy, that put magic in my day, are walking my dogs and looking at all of the beautiful trees and flowers as we go . I live in the city and two of my very favorite things are big beautiful fig trees that grow in my neighbor's yard. They get so lush, smell divine in the summer ans I love watching the fruit ripen! I also love when the branches that hang over the sidewalk have figs I can reach....

I love these pics - you´re always so good at finding the best ones! Right this second, I´m happy because we´re going to see our relatives, they live far from us unfortunately. Will be great! :-)

Good morning sweet girl!

It is ALWAYS a delight to see you come for a visit or to see a new blog post from you! Your kindness is felt through the computer screen! For WORDS are all we have to share with each other through this medium, but it has been such a memorable time to blog and LEARN how to take inspiration on a daily basis and produce something with it. I LOVE what you are saying here because it IS in the little things. There is a quote, and the author's name escapes me at the moment, but here it is"

"It is easy to take the simple things and make them complicated. It is GENIUS to take the complicated things and simplify them." - He is referring to WRITING, that if you take a small concept it is easy to DRESS it up with ambiguous and lofty vocabulary.....even complicate it even more with opinions and such. BUT to take a LARGE concept and shape it in a way that ANYONE can understand, or to take the essential and highlight it, THAT IS MASTERY. I believe it to be with living as well. I think this may be my next blog post...but I think that in living, we have so many ARTS...not only the fine arts, but the art of living. It is in the simple things...hmmm....blog post! Your pictures are always so lovely sweet friend...how do you find this lovely shade of PEACH?

ENJOY YOUR TIME BACK HOME and thank you for your sunshine! Anita

I have a stressful Tuesday coming up and your pictures helped me quiet my mind and remember the simple pleasure of bows and whipped cream coffee. Thank you!

So inspiring. Oh..its so hot and humid lately, its hard to get inspired..but I did just about finish a slouchy hat last night. And of course, I have stories in my head that possibly make me smile more than they would anyone else. Yet, little conversation from folks I barely know..always help the day.

These are beautiful.
These days, the way the crooked tail of one of my kittens wags simply melts my heart. Even if she's being mischievous. :)

Beautiful post! I have been taking "mini" vacations this whole summer, even if they are just in our backyard. I think it is so very important to remember to notice the little things in life, for as they say, sometimes they end up being the big things! xo Samantha

My lovely, I hope San Francisco was wonderful!!
I'm going to the dentist on Friday. I put it off for the longest time, and now the tooth has decided to avenge the evil I put it through by making my entire head ache. ha. But I am fine. I drown in pain-killers!
Shall I tell you how satisfied I am these days? It is almost beyond mere humanity. I am hurt. So very hurt, but yet, I feel nothing but joy. It is kind of weird. sigh.
But please, tell me more about your trip.

There is so much magic in steam coming off of a hot cup of tea! Or turning a baked good out of the pan for the first time and realising that IT WORKED.

This post was lovely!
