english love

"Missing someone isn't about how long it's been since you've seen them last or the amount of time since you've talked. It's about that very moment when you're doing something and you wish that they were right there with you."
-Unknown

This quote is exactly how I am feeling right now. Today I am missing my family that is in England, but how much more precious are the memories that I have of the times spent with them.

lots of laughs

lots of games

and lots of tea!

Does anyone else have family in another country? Now might be a good time to let them know you miss them. I know now is a good time for me :)

I used to send letters back and forth regularly with my family there. I would keep all the stamps from them, so I decided to make a little collage of stamps so I can always see it and remember special times. Love when art can double as sentimental value!

No, I have our relatives in the same country but it feels like another country because Sweden is looong and we live in opposite parts. That makes it hard to see eachother that much, mostly it´s just twice a year.

We´re used to it but it would be fun to see eachother more.

Have a great day! :-)

Oh, I have not seen you in so long dearest! I have it worst; I have NO FAMILY. My parents are passed on. My aunt and uncle are gone as well and I have no siblings. So, I have FRIENDS LIKE YOU, but I had not seen you in so long. Stay well and come to visit some time. Anita

I have all my family close by so I can't imagine how it would be not to have them around. I would be terribly homesick too! Feel better soon - I love the stamps - what a sweet idea.

I don't have family in another country, so I do not know how that feels, but I do understand what the quote is saying. The speaker worded those feelings in a beautiful way.

Ah what a sweet post. When we lived in New Zealand and our families were in California it was so hard to be apart. Now we are all in California...but I miss New Zealand. Funny how that is!

I like your combo of photos, especially tea which I am addicted to. So you are British? Or just that your family is there? My family is in New Zealand but I always feel more nostalgic for London somehow, really love that city.

I love how you framed the stamps. Such a cute idea!

I moved out of state a few months ago, and while its not another country, I have not seen my family since I have moved. Its definitely hard!

Oh I had no idea that you had family in England. Are you from there originally? Sorry that you're missing them. Most of my family lives here in the tri-state area so I see them quite often. I can't imagine how difficult that must be. xoxo

Hi! I just found your blog and it is really cute. Love the snow globe diy and the stamp collage is amazing & such a great idea! My family and I are in the same country, but they're on the other side of the U.S. which is basically like being in another country...lol. I miss them but I talk to my mom almost daily so that helps!

aww your stamp picture is so sweet! I didn't know you're from England! I mean, I'm imagining you are now :) What brought you here?

We went to visit my dad in Wisconsin just after Christmas. I'm not that close with him, but it was the first time he was meeting my husband or our son, so I'm glad we went and it was a good trip.

All of my husband's family is in Turkey (where he's from). They are dying to meet their grandson/nephew. I feel sad that Rowan is growing up without grandparents sometimes. I guess we'll have to stand in for all sorts of family members!

Happy New Year, Shawna!!

Cute idea with the stamps! I miss my family too! We have family in Canada, and Washington which is so far away from LA. But I can imagine how you feel being an ocean away! Hope all is well dear and thanks for the sweet comments! xx

The stamp collage is very cute. I love the quote you featured. It is so very true. All of my family lives in the U.S. but we are scattered across the map. We don't see each other very often and there are many lonely holidays. I know I miss spending time with them. But then when we do get together that time is 10x sweeter:)

How are you sweet girl? I have missed you and I am sorry I am now just getting over here! I can't seem to blog on a regular basis!
After Christmas is a busy time for me too! Myah's B-Day was Tuesday... she is 5. I just can't get over that! In a few weeks it's Cloe's B-day, she will be 12... AH!
She already acts like a teenager!
Life is just busy, especially with 4 kids!
Love to hear what's new in your world!
I love what you did with your stamps, very creative!
Sorry you are missing your fam! O bet they miss you too!

Love the stamp idea... I used to write letters to my love ones overseas as well. My family is all over the globe and there's nothing I wished more than to visit them in one place :)
