freedom

What does freedom mean to you?

Do you find it in vast open spaces?

Or in the rain?

Is it simply being able to do whatever you want?

Is it in the quiet times by yourself?

In your travels?

Is it in living a happy life?

Flying?

Letting go in love?

Or is freedom simply having the right to try?

What does freedom mean to you? Where do you see freedom?

I love the splendid greyish blue in many of these pics! :-)

Ah Freedom; hard to define. Maybe it´s just being able to follow one´s heart? :-)

Good morning dearest....freedom is peace....the peace in knowing that NOTHING BUT GOOD things have their hands wrapped around US and that what is evil can be slain...it can be beaten and that good overcomes eventually, in this life and the next. THAT is freedom to me!!!!!

Thank you dearest for coming to visit me; yes, each one of YOU introduces a whole new world and to NOT open my eyes to see all of what each one of you gives is NOT freedom! We have to open and let go and learn.....

Have a splendid day my friend. Anita

This is a really good question, and often discussed in philosophy classes. The idea of freedom changes depending where I am in life. Right now...for me...freedom means the opportunity to be able to travel and move about without hindrance. Ask me, next week and it will most likely change.

Hope you're having a fantastic start to the week!

Everything you just mentioned.

It's a little bit of everything you mentioned. But for me most of all it's being yourself, doing what you like and explore something new as much as you can.

A poignant question. The first thing that comes to mind when I think about freedom is... the freedom to make mistakes and take chances.
I love all the images you chose. And the copy you added really drove the message home.

Lovely pictures here! Freedom ... is time and space to persue my creative vision, to live the way i want to. But also, freedom is peace of mind, not to be a slave to your wishes or those of others.

wow, i agree with all of these. freedom is everything and everywhere if you want to look for it! i love how thoughtful your posts are, yet simple but so extremely powerful. great post!

we are going camping again this weekend and there is a huge sense of freedom while being outside with no responsibilities, just letting the minutes tick by without a care in the world, i love it!

I'd say it's a little bit of everything you mentioned but still staying true to yourself. It's only when you don't have freedom that you realise how much you take it for granted.

Freedom to me is really being able to dream dreams and then being able to go after them. Achieving them. xo

Great post, photos, and questions...I love the last one...the freedom to try and to fail. Just to know you've tried something even if you fail or don't like it makes you feel good because you know that at least you gave it a chance.

Hope you are having a great day love!

This is such a good question, but I love the idea that freedom can be defined simply as having the right to try. Isn't that really what it all boils down to. Brilliant!

Speaking of brilliant - your photos!!!! I mean seriously, how gorgeous!

Beautiful post and an interesting question too!

I don't know for sure - freedom is all the things you have spoken about but, for me, I feel truly liberated when I can overcome my fears and ask for what I want which is so difficult such a lot of the time. So I guess the last quote resonates with me the most and I am going to try harder to live those words because...

"A life lived in fear is a life half lived"!

Thanks for sharing, Stephie x

What a thought-provoking post! What does freedom REALLY mean to me? Having time to myself. Not having to worry. Being confident in myself and my abilities.
Beautiful pictures, too!

Freedom to me is definitely in nature, traveling, time alone and making my own schedule... I really struggle with #3 because having a 9 to 5 job makes me feel very un-free. haha Hopefully be working for myself one day soon!! xo

Aha! I was having a blue night last night about something related to this. You know, what my life really is and if I am free. The boyfriend basically showed me the light, with thoughts similar to this post. :)

Oh Poppie Girl you know how to post em! Oh, how I love the pic of the couple in the clouds!

I find one of the greatest forms of freedom is being yourself! Learning to trust yourself! Life seems to flow a little smoother when you know who you are and some what knowing what you want! I try real hard not to be my own enemy!

Like the sky opens after a rainy day we must open to ourselves.... Learn to love yourself for who you are and open so the world can see you shine. ~James Poland

Love you lots
