Tie a Knot and Hang On

I think it's common to get to "that point" in any project where you feel like it's not going to work, or your not happy with it. At "that point", it's hard to move on and see the end result. It's then where belief that sticking with it will pay off in the end and a little encouragement can go a long way.

"When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."
-Franklin D. Roosevelt

"Everything will be okay in the end.  If it's not okay, it's not the end."
  -Author Unknown

"When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn."
-Harriet Beecher Stowe

"A bend in the road is not the end of the road... unless you fail to make the turn."
-Author Unknown

"When it is dark enough, you can see the stars."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

No matter what project you are working on, whether it is something at work or a personal goal, remember to push through the hard, discouraging times. You will be so happy in the end that you persevered.

If you are working on any DIY projects, here's an encouraging article for "When Your DIY Seems Doomed".

Precious Shawna,

First of all, your photos are so gorgeous. I love my turquoise and aqua, but I see that you marry the color with your signature peach and pink and it is so beautiful. Now for the rest....oh how we ALL feel this way! Anyone who goes out on a limb to DO something daring must gather courage from outside of themselves. YOU CAN DO IT..I also think we need to step away a bit from whatever we are trying to accomplish especially if it is not bringing us the satisfaction that we are seeking. As a writer, there are what I think THREE stages in a cycle, according to Sir Francis Bacon. Here they are paraphrased:

Reading fills you up
Discussing makes you ready
Writing makes you EXACT.

As I see how far I have to go to understand real writing, I am reading voraciously, more than ever, or at least with a PURPOSE for my personal writing goals. I discuss with other writers or any one that will listen. That gives me ideas and helps to shape them. BUt then the scary and LONELY part comes...to sit ALONE and write. But I take all that I have learned about style in reading. I take the ideas developed in conversation, and then I get TO WORK. It sometimes flows, more often than not, it does not and then the REAL THINKING HAPPENS. It is a struggle, but that doesn't mean it is a failure. It is only saying that I am working and getting in shape. I always tell my students that practicing to be good students in all ways is like lifting weights; it is hard, but it makes you strong. At first it hurts, it is heavy, but with practice, it gets easier because you are stronger. I wish you the BEST in your personal journey of finding your muse, energy boldness to BARREL THROUGH and find your success!

Funny I was just having this convo with my bestie yesterday. More in a way of saying that if God opened the door then walk thru it, only He can open it and only He can shut it, it's up to us to do our best and trust that we are where we are meant to be and headed in a direction of purpose! xo -Taj

Hope you have a happy 4th! The article sounds great. I know..some of my crochet slouchy hats are better than others when I create them. Sometimes, I just have to find the right individual to give them too.
